Athletes across the country have participated in NIL opportunities through NBC Sports Athlete Direct. Here’s a sampling of the NIL deals that were available during our pilot program:

MLB Sunday Leadoff on Peacock

Athlete Payment: $100 per campaign

Peacock partnered with student-athletes to promote two Major League Baseball games that were exclusively available on Peacock. The first campaign featured the Phillies vs Nationals. The second campaign featured the Cubs vs Phillies. Ideal participants in these campaigns were authentic fans of the featured MLB teams, had a social media following in one of the team markets or were hardcore baseball fans. Deliverables for each campaign included: One (1) Instagram Post; and One (1) Instagram Story; and Screenshots of posts’ analytics.

Notre Dame Football on Peacock

Athlete Payment: Ranged from $50 to $500

Peacock teamed up athletes from Marshall University and Notre Dame to promote the Marshall vs. Notre Dame football game which was streamed live on Peacock and available on NBC. Additionally, athletes promoted a special $1.99 per month Peacock offer. Deliverables for the campaign included: One (1) Instagram Post; and One (1) Instagram Story; and Screenshots of posts’ analytics.

Reading Partners

Athlete Payment: $100

Reading Partners partnered with student-athletes to promote early literacy. Student-athletes participating in the campaign spotlighted a book from their own summer reading list in a post on their Instagram feed, tagging the book directly in their post. Anyone viewing the student-athlete’s Instagram was able to purchase the book by clicking on a link in the student-athlete’s Instagram bio. Book orders were fulfilled by Bookshop.org, which sources from a network of local, independent bookstores. A portion of the proceeds from all book sales benefited Reading Partners. Deliverables included: One (1) Instagram Post; and One (1) Instagram Story; and Screenshots of posts’ analytics.

GolfPass

Athlete Payment: $100 per campaign

GolfPass partnered with student-athletes to help them play more and play better, while on a student’s budget! In July, student-athletes promoted a student offer code to provide 40% off a GolfPass+ membership. In September, GolfPass promoted a giveaway of FREE GolfPass memberships. Ideal participants in these campaigns were student-athletes on the golf team or student-athletes who had a passion for golf. Deliverables for each campaign included: One (1) Instagram Post; and One (1) Instagram Story; and Screenshots of posts’ analytics.

GolfNow

Athlete Payment: $100

GolfNow partnered with student-athletes to promote a student offer code that provided a 20% off discount that can be used on GolfNow Hot Deal tee times. Ideal participants in this campaign were student-athletes on the golf team or student-athletes who have a passion for golf. Deliverables included: One (1) Instagram Post; and One (1) Instagram Story; and Screenshots of posts’ analytics.

The Office on Peacock

Athlete Payment: $100

Peacock partnered with student-athletes to promote the drop of Season 5 Superfan episodes of The Office exclusively available on Peacock. Ideal participants in this campaign were passionate fans of The Office. Deliverables included: One (1) Tweet of an athlete-generated photo; One (1) IG Reel/Grid post OR one (1) TikTok of an athlete-generated video and a screenshot of posts’ analytics.
